February 16, 1964 - September 19, 2008 In November 2007, Steve worked a full day at Fidelity before going for a blood test which landed him in the emergency room. He was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), Type II, and has been in the hospital ever since. See Steve's story to learn more... In his last few days, Steven asked us to maintain both this website and "Steve's Blog" for a while. He felt the website could tell his story and continue to inspire people to become bone marrow donors as well as blood and platelet donors. Many, many people have signed up in hopes of helping Steven and others in need. Steven was proud of that. Steven's story and your letters helped to change the policies of the insurance companies. As of January 2009, his insurance company will begin covering the costs of the donor search on their state insurance policies. We will maintain the blog to post information and tell Steve stories, sharing photos and memories. Please join in. |
